Mother's is entirely
run by volunteers. Members do everything from
running the technical aspects of the shows to administrative business:
Tech
The Tech Crew is in charge of the setup and operation of sound and lights at
shows.
Hospitality
The Hospitality Crew makes sure the performers and the audience are
comfortable. This includes getting the performers
drinks and food, as well as setting up the Mother's space with tablecloths,
candles, and photos of past performers. Refreshments
such as tea, coffee, cookies and donuts also need to
be provided, and people are often needed to work the merchandise table for
both Mother's and the performer.
Publicity
The Publicity Committee takes care of making and putting out posters, table
tents, and press releases for each show.
Finance Chair
The Finance Chair keeps track of how much money we've spent, what we spent it
on, and how much money we've earned from each event. The
Finance Chair is also in charge of preparing the budget for the following
year.
Webmaster
The Webmaster keeps the website up-to-date and manages the e-mail lists.
Booking Chair
The Booking Chair is an elected position and is essentially the club
president. This means taking care of paperwork such
as contracts, officer lists and membership lists; making and returning phone
calls; contacting the artists (or their agents) to book them; and generally
ensuring that the entire organization runs smoothly.
All Staff Members have a hand in deciding who
will play at Mother's each semester.
